It was nothing less than a feast at Johannesburg when India clashed with arch rivals Pakistan for the ICC World Championship...
Having won the toss and elected to bat India had put a modest total of 157...Pakistan bowling was right on target claiming wickets at regular intervals..They got the most prized wicket of Yuvraj Singh very early..It was as if Shane Warne scalped Sachin for a duck...Pakistani troop knew no bounds for the wicket of Yuvi..
Again young Rohit Sharma held his nerve and guided India to a decent total..He z generating lot of waves not only at BCCI but also in the hearts of indian gals.. :) Gud goin Rohit..!!

Pakistan who played well all through the tournament had to score 158 to take the trophy home..But it was Rudra Pratap Singh who once again led from the front... He scalped a wicket in his opening over n one more in his very next over...but Sreesanth was erratic..He was taken to task by Pakistanis...He gave 21 runs in his very first over...
But Indians held their nerve...They took wickets at regular intervals...They fielded well..Made no mistakes...It was Irfan Pathan who tool 2 wickets in his over changed the course of games...He took two dangerous wickets of Malik and Afridi in the same over...But Misbah didn't give up..He was watching the drama from the other end...He was fighting...When it was thought that pakistan had very less chance he punished Harbhajan and cleared fence thrice in Bajji's same over...Following that over Shoail Tanvir took erratic Sreesanth to some special treatment..But Sreesanth holdiing the nerve in the last ball sent Sohail back to the pavilion...
It was again R.P Singh and he did his job..
6 balls and 13 runs with Misbah on strike...He lofted the ball straight to a six..Dhoni was tensed and had a word with his bowler Joginder,who turned the way in Semis against Aussies, in Indian favor...And then Misbah scooped a slower deliver..Ball was high..My heart almost skipped a beat..and so was millions of indian fans....But the ball didnt even cross the circle..It landed safely in the hands of Sreesanth..
India wins the ICC world cup beating Pakistan with 5 runs...I was delighted...Everyone is delighted...They should declare holiday in India i feel...
Dhoni and his team now become part of history...After 1983 India could never win another world cup though it came very close 2 times....
Also the early exit from 2007 WC damaged the reputation of much talked Indian team...But this win will surely restore the faith in Indian cricket crazy fans...Dhoni seems to be right choice for leading India after Ganguly...Dhoni is aggressive, cool and knows what he is doing...He is ready to take up calculated risks...
Dhoni and his young team sent lot of messages with their temperament to all those who criticized Indian cricket team after their early exit from 2007 WC...From Kris "Sambar" Srikant to all those who burnt effigies and criticized (some of my frenz too) Dhoni conveyed the message...Though there is a long way to go India is definitely on the safe and right hands of younger generation who idolized the 3 stalwarts of Indian cricket...These guys have to take India from where Sachin, Sourav and Dravid had left...And am sure slowly and steadily Dhoni will lead India in the right track...
We wil have to wait for the upcoming series against Aussies and Pakistanis..

As i mentioned in my previous blogs..India is all about CRICKET...
That too a match with Pakistan....
The atmosphere is fully charged...Players electrified...

It was 1 more match against arch rivals India n Pakistan, in a 20-20 world cup at Durban....
India was playing without Sachin, Sourav n Rahul....I just cant imagine a match with out these guys...Their absence could be felt on the field..
India was put to bat by a confident Pakistanis who are known for their bowling attack...
India started on a wrong note but a positive Robin Uttappa and energetic captain Dhoni led the team to a decent total...141....
Pakistanis are ready to pounce on indian attack..Pakistanis wanted to finish the game in less than 10 overs and send the Indian team back home..
The intentions were clearly seen in their eyes...
But YOUNG INDIANS were too hot to handle...
R.P Singh, Agarkar, Pathan n Bajji were attacking the rivals leaving Pakistanis at utter dismay...They had no clue wat so ever....
Wickets fell at regular intervals...Crowd was roaring....Batsmen send the balls to the boundaries....Fans were enjoying...All entertainment...Itz al about NATIONS pride...
Agarkar was treated as badly as Shane Warne was treated by Sachin, in last but over....This over changed the course of game....It turned to Pakistanis all of a sudden...
Prayers were being offered...
Sreesanth takes the charge to bowl last 6 balls...3 balls 5 runs to win...
Four...All Pakistani fans roar...They jump with joy...
2 balls 1 run....Win guaranteed....Pakistani camp is all set to jump with joy....
But match is not yet over...Itz being directed by Shimit Amin i guess..:)

Now 1 ball 1 run....Dhoni brings all the men in blue inside circle...
Sreesant delivers a good delivery...and then RUNOUT...
What the fuck ?? Yes that was the expression on each and every pakistani fan...Runout on last ball ?? Pakistan camp is shocked..
Indians were jumping including me..:)

Now comes the anti climax....Penalty shoot out...
5 balls to be bowled by each side with different bowlers without batsmen...Who ever takes more wickets they are the winners...
This was nothing less than a movie to me...It was perfect entertainment...Atmosphere was totally electrified..I can imagine how ppl would have watched it in India...

On one side we see a country in all its spirits climbing up the ladder at the same time when we flip to the other side of the same coin we see radicals, we see communalism, we see people killing each other...
Nearly after 100 days the city of Nizams witnessed two bomb blasts within a gap of 5 mins claiming as many as 40 innocent lives..some of them are students, women, old people, men, children and some of them are visiting the pearl city for the first time....
The blasts were in similar lines of Bombay blasts....But only 2 of them went up and police were successful in controlling the situation immediately...

We just don't know who are producing these kind of freaks and what kind of pleasure they get by killing innocent people...
At the same time Islam religion itself has been under microscope because of these few freaks....
The good and innocent muslims are feeling the heat all across the globe...

Letz pray that these acts of terrorism should come to an end and letz live in peace....

May God bestow all the strength to the families who have lost their near and dear..

60 years of Indian independence...

At this point i don't need to give gyaan about the freedom struggle and the midnight hour story...Am in no mood to write telling the readers how great India is and blah blah..

What is important for a nation or for any human being for that matter is not to look back and cry about the past...Rather it makes sense to think and act about the present and look forward for a better future, for a new hope...

I often listen to people (esp in USA) complaining about India...India is like this..India is like that..Political system is corrupt...Defense is so weak...Roads are pretty bad and there is lot of pollution and etc etc...
Why don't we ever talk about the culture of India..Why don't we talk about the education system in India..
(All the people who have occupied high positions in USA have done their schooling and college in India)
Why don't we tell the world how tolerant we are...
Why don't we tell the world the number system has been brought to the world by Indians..
Why are we afraid to tell the world India is the land where most of the Gods' walked...
Why don't we talk about the spirit with which we all live together inspite of having various cultures and languages...(except for few freaks)
Why don't we tell the world we are just like any other.....?????
I can go on and on...

Also, why is that we only talk..
If we feel that there is some problem with the system why are not we ready to take up the responsibility inspite of having millions of bucks under our ass....

Why is that we want someone else to clean the system ??

If only our forefathers had same attitude am sure today we still might me living like slaves....

We need to understand that nothing in this world is ideal...
Neither a father nor a son...Not even a mother....Nothing in this world is ideal...
Every one has their own advantages and disadvantages...Every one is bestowed with some strengths and the same time some weakness....

My best fren's wedding

Saka had been my one of close pals fr my UG days..He guided me whn i was stumbling...He was always thr for me all thru my UG...
When i was in my 1st UG saka was in final year of PG...All the PG guys used 2 hang out near music colj in lawns after study hours...
Imagine a 1st year UG student goin arnd wid senior most ppl in univ....I was introduced 2 the gang by Jagadish...in dis group i met Sai Karthik....SaiKarthik, known as SakA amongst his frenz circle...
The frenship hit off immediately...Though he was 5yrs elder 2 me Saka never let the seniority come thru our frenship...He was just like my classmate..He presented me a wonderful b'day card...he n some other pals of mine made dat card...It was very special n i still carry....I cant forget the b'day bumps....He was carrying a baseball stick n i was blessed wid it..:)
Saka never had an air of arrogance...But Saka definitely had strong sense of individuality and clarity...I guess these 2 aspects of him made me look upto him even more....He was always practical...he was never biased..
There were many a nights whn Saka spoke 2 me abt lot of things...Fr his studies to movies, abt life, abt my studies and abt gf's n many more....
Whn my GPA was low i still very clearly remember him telling me lot of things on how 2 get better marks and the areas i needed to improve...That was a rainy night n was pouring very heavily....Univ just re-opened after summer break....
Saka also introduced me to many wonderful books...


I carry some wonderful memories wid Saka....

N few days fr now he be wil getting married...
i wish i could attend his wedding...

I wish him a wonderful and great life ahead....

Long long ago my teachers used to scold me if i attended the class late...They used to warn me if i repeated it n punished if i repeated again and again....
Once they punished me i used to attend classes on time and also do the homework....

The point here v need 2 understand z dat the teacher is behaving harsh only 2 make sure that v r on the right track...

Similarly our parents/relatives....Or for that matter any institution...
Everyone only try to teach us and in that process some times that need to adopt some harsh means...But once we learn they wouldn't do so....

Now one of the prime accused in those blasts is sentenced to 6 years of rigorous punishment.....
The prime accused here is a very versatile actor, Super Star Sanjay Dutt....

Sanju Baba admitted that 14 years back he had made a mistake..He had done that to protect his family then....He surrendered to Government then...He never tried to escape....

From then on he came a long way....He made sure that he lived a meaningful life...He was never in news for wrong reasons....Infact he was many a times in news for good reasons and for social cause...He has helped many talented actors to come up in Indian film industry..Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi to name few....

July 21 2006, Thursday...The day i landed in United States of America..
My port of entry was Charlotte, NC.
From there we flew to Cloumbus, Ohio. It was around 7.30 in the night when i came out of Columbus Airport...I saw the 50 state flag fluttering high in the sky for the first time in real...
By the time i reached Athens and to my apartment it was around 9.45 in the night. .

Now itz been a year...I came a very long way..Lot of things happened...I learnt few things...Liked some things and hated some things...

I celebrated this event by watching Partner at Bollywood Cinema..
There was no one selling tickets in black....The theater wasn't houseful on Sunday....
There were few ppl in the theater...Though movie was good the joy and happiness which i used to get by watching a movie in India was not there...
There was no one screaming and throwing papers when the hero dances....It was as if i was watching an Art movie..
My friends were not there sitting next 2 me 2 pass comments....

Prior to this i had my lunch at Udipi Restaurant....
I had normal masala dosa (I wanted to have Neti Karam Dosa, special in hyd)...
I was missing Biryani and Pickle rice like hell...
Itz been a year since i had hot hot mouth watering Mirchi Bajji's wid onions..

As i was driving back home i felt as if i was a stranger though itz been more than 6 months i've been in Houston...Every one seemed to be a stranger...
I was stuck with this feeling that I dont belong to this country...I am no body here...

I miss my home...
I miss my friends...
I miss the smell of those "gallis" where i grew up playing cricket..

I miss India..

Silence

SILENCE of a intelligent person z a huge loss 2 a nation...

This is one of the most imp observations that i made in my life...
It doesn't matter if a person who doesnt have much knowledge z trying 2 make a point...But itz real danger rather a threat if a intelligent person remains silent...
His silence provokes others 2 talk incessantly even if they r unaware of the subject, which results, most of the time, misleads others...

This z one of the many paradoxes dat exist in dis universe...

A science teacher was teaching a class of 40 6th graders abt the life cycles of a caterpillar..In the bunch of 40 students thr was a student whose eyes sparkled like those of stars...Whose smile brought lot of energy around..He was a very bright kid..One of the smartest in the class....
The teacher explained the students dat only after dis stage of cocoon does the caterpillar will come out n will b able 2 fly...just like how a baby comes out of mothers womb..
The teacher further explains dat it z in dis stage the mammal develops itz wings..

The teacher has actually brought a cocoon fr the lab 2 explain in a better fashion n so dat students will understand properly....

All of a sudden the teacher z asked 2 meet the principal immediately...N hence the teacher asks dem 2 work on the lesson...Teacher warns the students not 2 touch the cocoon..She gives dem these orders n proceeds 2 the office room..

This bright kid in the class slowly walks up to the table of the teacher n watches the cocoon curiously...Now the concentration of the entire class shifts 2 this kid n his activities...He den rolls it on his palm...After some time he has an idea....He immediately luks 4 an object dat can break dis cocoon....N den he breaks the cocoon....
The caterpillar which z out of cocoon struggles, just like a baby whn he comes out of womb, 2 fly...It struggles n struggles....This kid z unaware of the hapngs...The entire class z just watchng the show....No one had a clue of watz hapng...

After some time the caterpillar z dead....

The only intention of the kid 2 break 2 the cocoon z 2 let the caterpillar fly n live freely..He didnt want the caterpillar 2 suffer inside cocoon...
But 2 his utter dismay the mammal z dead lying flat on the ground...

Moral of the story !!!

Ppl standing in chennai heat 4 hrs 2gether 2 watch their super star on celluloid n bashing away the bad guys in Rajini's style to students driving hrs together 2 watch this movie says all abt the movie...

Lemme get u 1 thing straight...am not a fan of Rajini...i can count the number of Rajini movies i have seen...
Still the curiosity this movie has created in the minds of ppl astonished me....

One of the most striking point z dat itz not only men who were crazy 2 watch dis movie...Thr were many house hold ladies who made 2 theaters 2 watch on day 1...
Ppl who have not been 2 theaters for yrs 2gether r taking abt Sivaji....

The music of movie ruling chart busters increased the hope.....

When i saw the movie 300 i was stunned by its visual effects....Itz such a visual treat....
All credit to Miller....

But one can see the talent of writer cum director Miller only in his master piece SIN CITY...

Caution: Sin City is definitely not a movie for SRK fans...Neither itz a movie for weak hearts...

If u like blood shed, if u like speedy cars dashing on high ways....more imp if u njoy watchng guys dying den go ahead n watch master piece SIN CITY.

What stands out in this movie is neither the story, nor actors not even the action sequences....But the VISUAL TREAT Miller guarantees to the audience....
U will be spellbound by the powerful imagination of Miller in Sin City....
U will be flabbergasted by the extremely well written screenplay...
U will be thrilled by the crisp editing of this movie...

Very few movies can match this movie...I dunno if any movie can match...This is a stand out movie....
Not spider man, not even 300...

I wouldn't like to reveal the story of the movie but in brief itz abt 3 stories running parallel...
Itz abt Women and revenge...(U c woman is the root cause for all probs...hehhe...)

The highlights of the movie:
1) Visual Effects....(I dunno how someone can think like that...hats off 2 Miller)
2) Back ground score and dialouges...
3) All scenes r wonderful but the scene where a fox eats a live human body stands out as an exception.. The director actual shows this scene....(Plz watch this movie for this gory scene)
4) U should watch the movie for the last part....THE DEATH OF BIG FAT YELLOW MAN
5) The color combination of Black n Red, Black n White are excellent....
6) Last but not least....itz abt voluptuous women seducing mighty men....

All in all this movie is a perfect creation fr Miller...
Perfect entertainer...

If possible have a personal copy of this movie.....

If everyone follows the foot steps of Gandhiji or Abraham Lincoln then how does it become special ?
It will be "over used" if everyone walks in the same path...

What will happen to creativity minds of the people if every one follows like flock of sheep ?

So y does everyone preaches to follow someone else's foot steps...???
Why don't people appreciate changes ????

Are they scared we might lose eventually ???
