Diwali..the Festival of lights is one of the most important festivals back in India...The festival is more so special for kids because of FIRE CRACKERS...Each and every part in India is lit up with fire works...Kids get lot of gifts from their parents and their relatives...
The festival dates back to centuries ago when Lord Rama returned from forest after killing the Demon Ravana...From then on the festival is being celebrated...On the eve of Festival every one burst crackers as a sigh of joy and happiness..Each and every street is filled with sale of fir works...As days passed by and coz of technology advancements there is huge development in the industry of Fire Crackers..:)....i remember the days when bursting a SEEMA TAPAKAI,datz how v coined it in telugu, is considered to be a big thing...
As i got up this day, i received a call from my parents conveying the festival greetings to me...My mother felt bad as her both sons are in USA on this occasion...
As "US rules" donot permit us to burst crackers i felt sad that iam not bursting the crackers...
In the evening Prof.Nanda Rangan invited us for Special Diwali Dinner...When v reached his house the first thing that caught our attraction is a 7 series BMW...Man ! a Beamer in Athens...Iam sure many of the US people must be envying Ranga's luck...The house is well decorated will lot of paintings from across the globe...The entire house was lit up diyas at entrance of evry room...
As i was thnkng abt burstng crackers back at home ,to everyone's surprise the prof and his wife asked us to burst the crackers along with his family...I was taken back...I was wondering where the hell did he get crackers from ?? though all of them are chotu crackers i felt happy in bursting dem...Somethng is better than nothng...Few rockets and few chotu bombs...
It was real delight...I used to burst shit loads of crackers...From Vanakaya Bombs to 10,000 walas...Itz been ages i bursted these chotu bombs...U c how better India is...Infact the smoke generated by these crackeres will kill mosqutioes..Unfortunately US is not developed...They donot have any of dem...:)haha..
Finally the most interesting part of the day..FOOD...South Indian Food...
V had Idly with Rasam...AAAAA...I was in 7 th Heaven...The rasam was so wonderful...I had 2 cups of rasam...I remembered my father havng rasam with curd...Pulihora,Carrot halwa,Gulad Jamun,3 types of curries....It was marvellous...After that my frenz played Atankshari in prof drawing room...
By the time v returned back to University Courtyard it was 11...The city is becomng so damn cold...But v did enjoy the day...It was wonderful...
